FAQ

  Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I get Private GP Services on my existing Health Insurance?

A: Currently most UK policies will not usually cover our registration or consultation fees. International policies may cover our consultation fees, these must be paid and then claimed back by the patient. Your existing health insurance may cover the cost of clinically indicated investigations, x-rays or referrals.
Q: Do you need my NHS GP records to make decisions?

A: No. However, so that we are aware of your prexisting health needs, we would request that all new patients complete our confidential Health Questionnaire Form prior to their first consultation.
Q: Can I transfer all my NHS GP care to a Private GP?

A: We aim to complement the service you get from the NHS, not replace it. But this does not mean you cannot choose to see us for any aspect of your medical care.
Q: What about prescriptions?

A: We issue private prescriptions if a medication is indicated. Many items can be less expensive on private prescriptions, and these prescriptions can be dispensed at any retail pharmacy. These do not qualify for the NHS fixed charge (or free to children) prescription.
Q: Will my GP be informed about my Private Consultation?

A: Depending on your wishes, your consultation with us can remain confidential or we can fax your NHS GP to advise that we have seen you, to inform them of health problems, test results, medication prescribed or any referrals made. It is very important that your GP has this information so that your medical notes are as up-to-date as possible. However, discretion and confidentiality are paramount to us. We are always happy to discuss this with you further at the time of the consultation.
Q: What if I have an issue or complaint?

A: We are grateful for any feedback, both positive and negative, so we can continue to improve our care we deliver. If there are any issues, feedback or complaints about the service, please contact Dr Jobling or the GMC / CQC if more serious.
